4.4 / 5.024 ReviewsSolid! (and works with natural gas)Loving the Edelmetall burner so far. It's a low pressure unit with a large burner diameter so I bought with the intention of converting it to natural gas (off-label conversion.) The process was very simple - from gas outlet i installed a main shutoff valve, attached a 48" 1/2" dia gas appliance hose, added a second shutoff/regulator valve, then connected the assembly to the burner itself using reducing couplers. The Blichmann gas conversion kit would likely work as well. To get maximum output, with the burner lit I adjust the regulator valve until I have mostly blue flame with yellow tips. Any higher and the air intakes start to whistle and the flame turns yellow. I haven't timed a full boil yet, but it seems to heat water faster than my old torch-style propane burner. After 3 batches there is some darkening of the copper components closest to the flame - I could probably scrub it off but I kind of like it. Brew days are now a little more enjoyable now that I am saving money on gas, don't have to worry about empty propane tanks, and get to admire my bad-a** Dwarven relic spewing holy flame.June 5, 2014A Perfect SolutionI bought this burner over the Blichmann because it has three legs instead of four. Sounds odd? Well, my brewing patio is made of blocks and its not perfectly level. A 3-leg burner will sit solidly on an uneven surface where a 4-leg burner will not. The adjustable kettle stand will accommodate any size kettle, and I'm using this one with a Blichmann BoilerMaker G2 10-gallon model. Perfect fit. My initial test boiled 7 gallons of 74 degree water in 32 minutes.October 12, 2014Rocket Power! What a fantastic burner! This has cut our brew time literally in half...bring 2.5 gallons to a boil in a matter of 15 minutes, and very easy to control the temp. We did have a leaky coupling that could not be fixed: Midwest Supplies has the BEST customer service I've experienced in a long time, and they took care of the issue, with no questions asked--there goal is to keep you brewing!Get one of these...it is 120% worth the investment, and these guys are the ones to buy from--they back their product and are so very knowledgeable and helpful.February 26, 2015Great Burner/Minor flawsPerfect upgrade from a turkey fryer. I have been more than happy with the fuel consumption. This being my only burner for all grain brewing it has done great. So far on one tank I have heated the mash water to strike, hot liquor to 170, boiled from 60-90 minutes depending for three 5 gal. batches and feel I have enough for a fourth even a fifth._x000D__x000D_The only problem I ran into was the gas valve. It broke at the thinnest part while it was stored. I don't recall bumping anything into it, but picked up a replacement (Bayou Classic) hose/valve assembly from Lowes that seems far more durable._x000D__x000D_All in all this is a great burner, and I will probably get another one in the near future.March 30, 2015Only used once but veryOnly used once but very even heat to potDecember 20, 2015Edelmetall Bru BunnerHave been using this for a little over two years, it has been reliable and heats up far faster that a glass cook top, ??where we began?. It ahas easy taken an hour off our day of brewing.August 3, 2016Killer BurnerThis is performing great. My buddies using a turkey fryer burner are asking to borrow it.February 1, 2016Love this Burnerbought the Edelmetall burner 2 weeks ago and used it for the first time that weekend. I love the control, so easy to dial in what you need for heat. the power is there to bring to a boil very quickly.February 5, 2016Awesome BurnerLove this burner. Easy to control heat. Decreased the time to heat water substantially. My only concern is that the gas supply line isn't very long. I wish it was longer to get the propane tank a little further away from the burner...other than that I'm completely satisfied.March 31, 2016

TankBEST ANSWER: Larger tanks are more likely to be for commercial uses, which do not always have the same hardware and overfill protective devices as smaller tanks. Can this burner be hooked up to my homes natural gas supply instead of propane?? Does it still function well in that configuration??BEST ANSWER: There is currently no conversion kit to make this propane burner work on natural gas. The only burner we sell that has that option is the blichmann floor burner - which works great on natural gas. Cheers!
